Accepting These Terms

Hookai ("we", "us", "our") operates hookai.io. These Terms of Service (the "terms") are an agreement between you and Hookai. By creating an account, buying credits or using the service, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must also accept our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are part of these terms.

What the Service Does

Hookai is an AI rap video generator. You upload a photo and choose a theme (or write a short verse prompt); the service renders a short, lip-synced vertical rap video with its own native vocals and beat, featuring the person in that photo. It is an entertainment and content-creation tool, not a music distributor, label, or licensing service.

Features may change. Feature descriptions on this site and in our blog describe the product as it stands and as we intend to develop it. Capabilities marked as planned are not live yet; we may change, delay or drop features, and we will not describe a planned capability as available. Nothing in our marketing is a guarantee of a specific capability, quality level or accuracy.

No affiliation. Hookai is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Suno, Freebeat, Neural Frames, Solmi, AIRapGen, Higgsfield, Cloudflare or any other third-party music, video or infrastructure tool mentioned on this site. Those names belong to their owners and are used, if at all, only to describe a workflow. Hookai does not currently integrate with Suno, and generating a video does not require a Suno file.

Your Responsibilities

• Age. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the service. The service is not for children.
• Minors. Do not upload photos of anyone under 18. This is a hard rule with no exceptions.
• Consent and likeness rights. Only upload photos of people who have given you explicit permission to appear in this video. You are responsible for obtaining and being able to prove that consent.
• No unauthorized deepfakes. Do not create videos depicting celebrities, public figures or private individuals without their consent, and do not use the service to impersonate anyone. We may remove such content and close the account.
• Rights to your inputs. You must own or be licensed to use every photo you upload and the rights to the likeness in it, and you are responsible for any text you enter as a theme or verse prompt. Pasting lyrics and uploading an audio track are planned features; when they ship, you must own or be licensed to use every lyric and audio file you import, including the underlying composition and master recording.
• Lawful use. Do not use the service to harass, defame, threaten, sexually exploit, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone, to create sexual content involving real people, or to break any applicable law.
• No abuse. Do not attempt to bypass credit charges, rate limits or content checks, scrape the service, resell access, or automate it beyond documented limits.

AI-Generated Content

Generative models are probabilistic, and you should expect the following:

• Outputs may be inaccurate, partial, visually glitched, or biased. Faces may drift, mouths may desync from the vocal, and hands and text often fail.
• Generated videos are not authentic footage. They are synthetic media and must not be presented as real recordings of real events.
• You are responsible for how you publish. That includes labelling, captions and compliance with the rules of the platform you post to — many require AI-generated content disclosure. Check those rules before posting.
• We do not guarantee that every generation will satisfy you aesthetically or technically. Failed generations are refunded automatically.

Credits and Payments

• The service runs on prepaid credits: one video costs 150 credits at 480P or 300 credits at 720P. You choose the resolution per video, and the price is shown before you confirm.
• Credits are sold in one-time packs. They do not expire, are personal to your account, and cannot be transferred, gifted or resold.
• Prices are displayed at checkout. Taxes may apply depending on your location. Payment is handled by the configured provider (Stripe, Creem, PayPal, Alipay or WeChat Pay); we never receive your full card details.
• Generated videos are hosted for 7 days only. Download yours before they expire. Expired videos cannot be recovered, and we do not issue credits for videos that were not downloaded in time.
• Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Commercial Use

• You may use videos you generate from materials you legally uploaded for personal use — posting to your own social channels, sharing with friends, and private projects.
• Paid users (anyone who has purchased a credit pack) may also use their generated videos for personal and commercial promotion: paid ads, social media marketing, and client or customer marketing for your own brand or business.
• You may not resell the service itself, resell generated videos as a competing AI video service, pass the service off as your own product, or redistribute it as a white-label tool.
• You remain responsible for the likeness rights and any third-party rights in the materials you upload, and for complying with the rules of the platform you publish to. This section is not legal advice; consult a lawyer for your own situation.

Generated Content and Ownership

• Your inputs stay yours. The photos you upload and the text you enter remain your property.
• Subject to these Terms, you receive a licence to use the generated video as described in Commercial Use above: personal use for everyone, plus commercial promotion for paid users.
• Hookai's marketing licence. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use generated videos and non-sensitive screenshots of the service for marketing, demos and our portfolio. You can opt out at any time by emailing support@hookai.io, and we will stop using your content in new marketing material.
• Do not present generated videos as authentic footage, use them to deceive, defame or mislead, or remove watermarks, disclosures or attribution required by a platform or by law.
• We may refuse, remove or regenerate content that violates these terms, and cooperate with lawful takedown requests.

Intellectual Property

• The site, the service, the motion templates, the interface and the generation pipeline are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms.
• Your inputs stay yours — the photos and theme or verse text you upload or enter remain your property. You grant us a limited licence to process them solely to render and deliver your video.
• Generated videos are licensed to you as described in Commercial Use and Generated Content and Ownership above. No other rights in the generated video are transferred.

Availability and Changes

We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, including features and resolutions. The service is provided subject to availability; maintenance, provider outages and abuse mitigation may interrupt it. Credits you purchased remain usable for the service's core feature while the service operates; if we permanently shut down a paid core feature, we will refund unused credits for it.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, uploads prohibited content, abuses the service, attempts to circumvent payments or rate limits, or poses a risk to other users. Credits on accounts terminated for a violation are forfeited to the extent the law allows.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that outputs will be accurate, that faces will match perfectly, or that the service will meet your expectations.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hookai is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost audience or lost opportunity arising from your use of the service or from generated content. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing Terms and Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date and, where significant, announced by email or in-product. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
